The Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) resolves:
- Disputes between residential landlords and tenants
- Eviction applications filed by non-profit housing co-operatives
The LTB also provides information about its practices and procedures and the rights and responsibilities of landlords and tenants under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006.
In an effort to bring more transparency to the decisions made by the LTB, Members are encouraged to regularly visit the LTB Decisions website page. Posted here is information on cases and court orders that have been resolved or issued which can help you advise your landlord and tenant clients better. Some posted decisions can be found on the Canadian Legal Information Institute (CanLII) website. CanLII is a non-profit organization that makes Canadian law accessible for free on the Internet.
Please note that due to the high number of decisions that the LTB makes each month, the collection on CanLII is not necessarily complete or up to date.
